The app is a tad buggy, but it works. I needed an E-sim for travel but my phone wasn't paid off fully, so I could unlock it for 30-days for my trip. Note: if you are having trouble, you can call T-Mobile's customer service, but you'll need your account access to do it.

News. App works after all. It's just that it has to be active and using an active T-Mobile sim card \account. Otherwise/this is why you get the server fail error. Presumably,it looks for IMEI and phone number/account status for the app to actually function properly. That seems to be the key that no instruction guide nor their dog care to mention. Super nonsense. . Hope this finally helps others,,,,,

According to FCC if you are in good standing a provider cannot refuse to network unlock your device. They can also be charged with a fine $500 per day from the day you requested till your device is unlocked. Just thought I share that information.
