Dropsync: Autosync for Dropbox vVARY
MetaCtrlAbout this app
Developer Description
Automatic file sync and backup tool for Dropbox
New files in your cloud account are automatically downloaded onto your device. New files in your device are uploaded. If you delete a file on one side, it will be deleted on the other side. It works across multiple devices (your phone and your tablet). If their folders are synced with the same cloud account, they will be kept in sync with each other.
This is how Dropbox works on computers but not on Android. Two-way automatic synchronization should be an essential function of the official app. For whatever reason, it is not the case. Dropsync is here to fill the gap.
All file transfers and communications between user devices and cloud storage servers are securely encrypted and do not go through our servers. No outsiders will be able to decrypt, see or modify any file contents.

This app is a hidden little gem, a marvel of software craftmanship. It saves me so much time. I mirror entire DCIM folder on my phone with my Dropbox account. I can easily manage, rename, and organized all my pictures from my laptop and all my changes to the folder structure are reflected on my phone instantaneously. I wish I discovered this app earlier. A+ Amending my original review: it's been 6 years and the app need to support parallel uploads. I am syncing thousands of files daily.
great and very useful app! only suggestion i would have is to include the actual error msg when a sync fails, e.g. when the dir on dropbox includes a char not allowed on android. hard to figure out without the error msg
App seems good but I can't say I feel safe giving it OAuth access to my ENTIRE Dropbox. A way to only provide it with scoped, limited permissions would be welcome; I've seen other apps do this. Same for allowing it read/write to my entire phone rather that allow specific folders only...
Claims all the time, that the battery settings are wrong and preventing background functions - even though "Allow background usage" is on for this app... UPDATE: None of the options described in the in-app instructions exist on my Android 14 (LineageOS 21) device, so no way to disable something that does not exist.
Jumped through security and battery hurdles - still does not autosync. And 'instant upload' which is an option in your other app, Onesync, is missing from Dropsync.
