The first cities on the Rhine emerged from Roman outposts protecting the border with Germania. As the governor of one of these cities, your task is to develop it in the best possible way, while also defending it against the Germanic tribes. Empress Agrippina and her son Nero will inspect your actions and honor the most successful governor.

In 'Discordia', you develop your city by building farms, barracks, defenses, harbors, and markets, and by trading with ships. Use your seamen, soldiers, merchants, and farmers profitably, fulfill decrees, and secure privileges — acting carefully at all times so that your city grows neither too fast nor too slow. Will you have the best-developed city at the end of the fourth year, or will you manage to impress the empress before then and win the game early?

With Discordia you get the solo Version of this game from Irongames. You can compete with othe players online via a highscore table and 3 different game modes, which reduce the effect of luck in this game.

Doesn't onboard new players at all. As someone who never played Discordia but was interested in it I had hoped the App would be a good way to do that. Unfortunately there are no tutorials, and the rules are written more like a reminder of how to play that how to play. With the multiple mechanics being greatly simplified following play to learn is incredibly cumbersome. I think for someone very familiar with the game the apps minimalism would not be a hindrance. As a new player it's a dead end.

What a miserable implementation. Unless you own the tabletop version and have the rules memorized you're out of luck. No tutorial. No back button. No explanation of what to do, how to do it, or why you want to do it. Apparently there was no desire for any new players to learn the game
