Developer Description

You can print from Brother printers using the built-in menu of Android apps.

The Brother Print Service Plugin enables you to print directly from your Android devices (Android 5.0 or later), to your Brother printer through a Wi-Fi network. As this is a plugin application, you can print using the "Print" option of supported Android apps. Please see below for supported applications (as of March 2015):
- Chrome Browser
- Gmail
- Photos
- Google Sheets
- Google Slides
- Google Docs
- Google Drive
The following print options are available (compatible options will depend on the selected device):
- Copies
- Paper Size
- Color/Mono
- Orientation
- Media Type
- Quality
- Layout
- 2-sided
- Borderless
After installing this application, you must activate it in one of the following ways:
- Tap the icon displayed in the notification area immediately after installation, and enable it in the displayed screen.
- Tap "Settings" on your Android device and tap "Printing", then select "Brother Print Service Plugin". Enable it in the displayed screen.

Provides extra print settings. The typical connectivity issues seem to be due to the printer going idle. I usually tap through the menu on the printer to print settings, then immediately cancel the print job before it's done thinking about it. Within 10 seconds or so if that, my phone should be able to detect the printer on the network and this app can then be used to drive the print options page. All the folks saying it can't find the printer, I'm sure it's actually the printer, not this app.

Update: this is so slow to print, yet iPrint & Scan is very fast. Old review: Excellent in design, but have to wait ages for it to even recognize the HL-2250DN printer, even immediately after completing a print job. It always says "The Printer is not available right now" when it very much is available. Then after some time, there it is. Brother's other app iPrint&Scan works quickly and perfectly. It's a pity because this app is more convenient as you can print straight from apps. Please fix it.

Update since 2024: Removed a Star- Its so bad, now,that it's usseless. Orig<<App doesn't work. Its the only Printer App I've set up that doesn't function. As an aside -DO NOT enlist in the Ink Refresh Program. If one dares to use identical Brother ink the printers screen never stops sending threatening messages. Ironically, it doesn't recognize installed Refresh Ink Cartridges.
