Gemini is an experimental AI assistant that gives you direct access to Google’s best family of AI models unlocking new ways to assist you, while still incorporating many of the actions you love in Google Assistant today.

While some of the actions won’t work right away, we are working to support more coming soon. You will be able to switch back to Google Assistant in app settings.

Gemini opt in is rolling out to select devices and countries - opt in to Gemini from your Google Assistant or by downloading the Gemini app.

Google forced Gemini on me. I was in the middle of a road trip and it couldn't do half of the things Assistant could do while I was driving. I manually reset it back to Assistant, but now Assistant doesn't understand simple things like "navigate me to 123 elm street". none of the online articles help. Google has screwed its usefulness and resetting the phone would probably push Gemini onto me again and restart the whole mess. only fix: uninstall all updates

okay I am going to start using Samsung Bixby from now on. I literally just asked Google what today's date was and Google's reply was it's Friday January 30th 2026 The problem is it's actually Saturday 2:00 p.m. January 31st 2026 so how the hell is this even possible? I'm done screwing around with Google Home Gemini has totally ruined Google forever it will never get any better I'm done!
