Great implementation - worthy of five stars, but with some reservations. The touch accuracy seems a bit off on my Pixel4XL - meaning I'm missing the die I need to move often enough to be a bit annoying. Not sure if many other android devices have the 'swipe from edge' feature - but it means you'll accidentally exit the app or pull up the bottom drawer often. This can be turned off but still. A bit frustrating. Also - (and this is selfish) this is a great game, but it REALLY needs the expansion to come alive in terms of choice and variety. Looking forward to the release!
Consistantly crashes when a tile is played which removes a die to exchange with another die but no progress is lost. That's the only time it crashes but it happens every time. Also, sometimes it doesn't correctly notify that it's your turn in online games so you have to visit each one and check. No chat or block functions available which would be nice. Still, an excellent game I love to play for a few hours each week.
Update: Something was changed in the game, and I can no longer add more than on AI player on my phone. Unfortunately, the game is much more interesting with 4 AI players. I originally gave a 5 star review. I'll definitely put it back to five when this gets a fix. Excellent replayability, strong AI, very clean implementation of the original board game!
Bought this as a beta (which required the full £10 purchase) with the intention to play with friends online. It looks nifty but was riddled with bugs (it sounds like many still exist) and games just took too long (35 minutes if trying to play quickly), but had potential if online play were made quicker and the kinks ironed out. After all, the Race for the Galaxy app is incredibly well-made and probably my all-time favourite. Unfortunately, it appears none of this feedback was taken onboard and it just makes every game a drawn out, frustrating experience that has even killed any enthusiasm I had for the physical version (which I can't even play due to COVID-19). Anyway, my friends all got refunds while mine was refused, so here I am with a £10 app I'll never use.
Good adaptation of the game, but it murders battery life - 20 minutes of play ate 45% of my battery today.
