VA Health Chat v11.6.0
US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)About this app
Developer Description
This application will allow Veterans to chat with a VA Health Care Team member
VA Health Chat is now available for almost every single Veteran receiving care in the VA Health Care system. Veterans may see the chat options that are available to them by signing in to the VA Health Chat application.
Not every chat option is available for every Veteran. VA continues to expand services monthly so Veterans are encouraged to check back as the VA expands this service rapidly.

Just downloaded it and used it to take care of my pharmacy needs. The whole process took about 15 minutes. It worked well, the pharmacy techs were wonderful, and everything was taken care of quickly. I liked that the transcript of the conversation is available immediately after. I also like that there is a summary provided of what was done. Sometimes, I just don't feel like speaking [like today]. This was nice as an alternative to calling on the pharmacy on the phone.
This chat application works well except for when the phone goes to sleep. If the phone sleeps and locks, the chat no longer displays incoming or outgoing chats unless you close and reopen the app. Responses from the triage team normally take longer than the time out of the phone. I am using a pixel 6.
The app appears on your phone in "All Apps" under the letter "C," because instead of being listed as "VA Health Chat" on your device, it's instead called "Chat." The developers should rename the app so it is found in All Apps under "V" and using its actual name. Vets who use the app infrequently, or family members helping them, might not know to look for this app under the name "Chat."
App works but poorly. You may as well keep using the my healthevet website because nothing has changed, you'll still login through VA.gov, then use dslogin or id.me, set up a pin, still have to give 4 to 5 authentication answers or verification answers EVERY TIME you chat. just for them to send a message to your provider anyway, which you could do more directly in the website.
Punched in my login info, did the security check, (glad I'm not dyslexic or that'd be a trip,) it tells me "login successfull! Redirecting!" And then a popup appears that says "login failed" and it just leaves me on the login successfull page with nothing else. Thanks VA. Really par for the course. Plus they're getting rid of the one login feature that wasn't a huge pain, goodbye myhealthevet login, you worked and the VA absolutely can't have something that works.
