Enable 2-step verification to protect your account from hijacking.

Google Authenticator adds an extra layer of security to your online accounts by adding a second step of verification when you sign in. This means that in addition to your password, you'll also need to enter a code that is generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone. The verification code can be generated by the Google Authenticator app on your phone, even if you don't have a network or cellular connection.
* Sync your Authenticator codes to your Google Account and across your devices. This way, you can always access them even if you lose your phone.
* Set up your Authenticator accounts automatically with a QR code. This is quick and easy, and it helps to ensure that your codes are set up correctly.
* Support for multiple accounts. You can use the Authenticator app to manage multiple accounts, so you don't have to switch between apps every time you need to sign in.
* Support for time-based and counter-based code generation. You can choose the type of code generation that best suits your needs.
* Transfer accounts between devices with a QR code. This is a convenient way to move your accounts to a new device.

I’ve yet to have a problem with it. You get the option to name when you set up the authenticator brilliant. maybe could do with an extra 30 seconds before it comes out if you’re jumping from the authenticator to the where you’ve got to enter it it’s sometimes timed out for me but no biggie. It just generates another number.

The app is finally useable as it has a cloud backup option to your Google account and screen lock .You can also move your codes to another phone even if you don't use the cloud backup option by scanning a QR code from the app on your current device. Please make it look a bit more attractive with icons and allow the list to be put in alphabetical order and not in the order that they were added.

I lost acess to all of my codes after trying to import my codes to my new phone. I tried contacting google support and they completely ghosted me. I have lost access to one of my accounts that I had for 13 years because of this.
