I like it a lot but it lacks a big feature and I have every setting right and on, I can use carplay or android auto, so here's my beef, the apple car play when using it for directions it displays the speed limit and actual speed next to it, so go figure that I expected and thought that android auto would have it being it's native to the who android ecosystem, I just don't know why the developers for the apple version of the Google maps is so far ahead of the android based maps. please add this

Jan 2026: assistant fails to listen for my voice and crashes. not responding. graphics lag when notifications come through. audio is garbled during transitions to navigation audio. Nov 2023: new 3d buildings & color scheme are GREAT ENHANCEMENTS! Very useful and convenient in my 2018 Honda Odyssey. Works great in my 2022 Honda Insight

update: no longer sends messages at all. what's the point?? Meh. My car map is old (despite Hyundai claiming it's updated every 6mo), so I use this for Google maps only. Annoying that it only ever allows you to have 1/3 screen because the rest is ads for audible or whatever. Annoying that it needs to use Bluetooth AND be connected with USB, but not sure if that's the app or my stupid car. update: really really wish this was compatible with Google voice or contacts. very very limited app options.
